I went from being an excellent student to barely even making it into my classes due to extreme exhaustion and fatigue. I couldn't focus on any of my lectures, and I struggled through the year using sheer willpower to pass my classes.
That's when I finally hit my breaking point.
I had a broken nervous system. I could tell something was wrong with me, but I didn't know what. I was experiencing depersonalization, feeling like I was progressively losing my brain and personality.
ONE DAY, while driving on the highway, I began having heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and pins and needles through my whole body.
I had no idea what was happening to me.
I immediately pulled over and called 911.
It felt like my heart was beating out of my chest. At this point, I was convinced I was going to die.
After all the bloodwork and EKGs were done, the doctors told me everything was fine and that I had just experienced a panic attack.
My nervous system has been worn down so badly that my mind and body couldn't handle it anymore.
Although I always struggled with social anxiety and awkwardness growing up, this was another level that I didn't even know was possible.
After this life-altering event, I temporarily dropped out of college as these symptoms had gotten unbearable.
I became OBSESSED with my health - to the point of spending DAYS on end reading research papers and scouring the internet to try to get my brain AND my life back.
I stumbled across Dave Asprey's Bulletproof Blog, in which he talked about neurofeedback training.

It all came crashing down during my freshman year of college when I became seriously ill with mold toxicity in the dorms. After waiting for what felt like hours, I was on the way to the hospital in the back of an ambulance. The medics checked my heart thoroughly, and I was evaluated by the cardiac unit at the hospital. After all the bloodwork and EKGs were done, the doctors told me everything was fine and that I had just experienced a panic attack.
The mold toxicity had worn my nervous system down so badly that I couldn't handle it anymore, resulting in a breakdown. I always struggled with social anxiety and awkwardness growing up, but this was at another level. I knew I had to prioritize my mental and physical health to reclaim my life. I temporarily dropped out of college as these symptoms had gotten unbearable.
I became OBSESSED - to the point of spending 10-12 hours per day reading research papers and scouring the internet to try to find a way to get my brain AND my life back.
